Action for Children Scotland – Alcohol and Drug Partnership (ADP) – Early Years and Early Intervention Substance Misuse – Cool2Talk

Work with children, their families and young people who have been affected in a variety of ways by substance misuse. Offers early intervention and assessment as well as individualised support packages.

Aims to reduce the level of substance misuse within Lewis & Harris. Staff trained in Baby Massage, Seasons for Growth and The Triple P Parenting Programme.

Groups run by the service include:

  • Maternal and Infant Nutrition Group – a 12 Week Programme designed to support parents by improving cooking skills while educated them in food and nutrition and improving self-esteem and confidence.
  • New Beginnings – a 4-week programme to assist new parents in preparing for their new arrival, informing them of services that can assist them working alongside Health and Midwifery to ensure a positive start to life as a parent.

A referral from another service is required
